I have some problems with patching from version .842 to .852. I have already modified some classes and made my own in .842, now I tried to import them manually into the .852, but the source doesn't want to compile. In the process, I have screwed up some original files, so my .842 install can't compile either. So, I have two questions:

1. Where can I download .842? I need it to replace the screwed files in my old install.
2. What method of engine patching would you recommend?

WinMerge is a popular choice to view differences in files, it also supports filters to view C# code with basic keyword highlighting.

There is no automatic process for this, also it is normally a good idea NOT to modify the base classes of the engine unless you absolutely have to. Simply extend these classes into your own functionality so that when the time to upgrade comes you just drag and drop and update references.

This is what we do with Incognito Episodes but of course there is many ways to skin a cat :)

Since I long since passed point of no return, my preferred method is always keep a clean copy of each NeoAxis version and
when a new version is released, I WinMerge the original NeoAxis version files, see how they have changed and adapt the changes to my project.

Thank you for the time you spent to help me and for your advices.

WinMerge is looking good. Downloading right now.
About base classes changing, you are right, it is the thing that got me into problems.

Now, can anyone answer my first question? I need the original .842 version to compare it with mine project.

Again, thanks, this engine has (unlike many others) very good community.

Thank you, Betauser! It's incredible how good community this engine does have compared to many others.
